Spiced Apple Cider Donut Loaf with a Cinnamon Sugar Crust

Spiced Apple Cider Donut Loaf with a Cinnamon Sugar Crust 🍏🍞

Ingredients:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
½ cup apple cider
½ cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons melted butter (for topping)
¼ cup cinnamon sugar mixture (for topping)

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan and set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Add the apple cider, sour cream, and vanilla extract to the wet ingredients, and mix until combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer the bread to a wire rack.

While the bread is still warm, brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle generously with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing and serving.
