Steak with Ghostly Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce
Yields: 2 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut, about 6-8 oz each)
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp butter
For the Ghostly Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce:
1/2 cup bourbon
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup beef broth
2 tbsp unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp fresh thyme leaves (optional)
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
1. Cook the Steaks:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Season the steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.
Once the oil is hot, place the steaks in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare (or cook to your desired doneness).
During the last minute of cooking, add the butter and minced garlic to the pan. Let the butter melt and spoon the garlic-butter mixture over the steaks.
Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest while you prepare the sauce.
2. Make the Ghostly Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce:
In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently, until fragrant.
Carefully pour in the bourbon and let it reduce for about 2 minutes, allowing the alcohol to evaporate and the liquid to thicken slightly.
Stir in the beef broth, and Dijon mustard, and let it cook for another 3 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce and intensify in flavor.
Add the heavy cream and fresh thyme (if using), and continue cooking for 2-3 minutes until the sauce becomes creamy and thickens.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Serve the Steak:
Plate the steaks and drizzle the Ghostly Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce over the top.
Garnish with additional thyme or parsley, if desired.
Tips:
Pairing Suggestion: Serve with a side of roasted potatoes, sautéed greens, or garlic mashed potatoes for a complete meal.
Rest the Steak: Letting the steak rest after cooking allows the juices to redistribute, making it more flavorful and tender.
This Steak with Ghostly Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce offers a smoky, rich, and flavorful sauce with a hint of bourbon that complements the juicy, perfectly cooked steak. The garlic adds depth, making it an unforgettable dish perfect for a special occasion or a fancy dinner at home.
