Easy Homemade Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

✅ 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
✅ 1 packet active dry yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
✅ 1 ¼ cups warm water (110°F / 45°C)
✅ 1 tablespoon sugar or honey
✅ 1 teaspoon salt
✅ 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter

Instructions:

1️⃣ Activate the Yeast:

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast.
  • Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy (this means the yeast is active).

2️⃣ Make the Dough:

  • In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
  • Add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  • Stir until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

3️⃣ First Rise:

  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

4️⃣ Shape & Second Rise:

  • Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.
  • Place it in a greased loaf pan and let it rise again for 30 minutes.

5️⃣ Bake the Bread:

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and it sounds hollow when tapped.

6️⃣ Cool & Enjoy:

  • Let cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan and cool completely before slicing.
