Easy Freezer Biscuits – Make-Ahead Flaky Biscuits 🧈✨

These homemade freezer biscuits are a lifesaver! Perfect for busy mornings or last-minute meals, they bake up golden and fluffy straight from the freezer—no thawing needed.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup (5 tbsp) cold butter, grated or cubed
  • 1 cup milk (cold)

Instructions:

1. Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

2. Cut in the Butter
Add grated or cubed cold butter to the dry ingredients. Use a pastry cutter, fork, or your fingers to work it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. Add the Milk
Pour in cold milk and gently mix until the dough just comes together. Don’t overmix!

4. Roll & Cut the Biscuits
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about ½ to ¾ inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits.

5. Freeze the Biscuits
Place biscuits on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Freeze until solid (about 1-2 hours), then transfer them to a freezer bag for storage.

6. Bake from Frozen
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place frozen biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 16-18 minutes until golden brown.

Tips for Perfect Biscuits:

Keep ingredients cold – Cold butter = flaky biscuits!
Don’t overwork the dough – This keeps them tender.
Brush with butter – For extra flavor, brush tops with melted butter before or after baking.

Variations:

🧀 Cheddar Herb: Add ½ cup shredded cheddar & 1 tsp dried herbs.
🍯 Sweet Honey Butter: Add 1 tbsp honey & brush with melted butter.
🫐 Blueberry Biscuits: Fold in ½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries.

These homemade freezer biscuits will be your new go-to for easy, fresh-from-the-oven goodness anytime!
