    Instructions:
  1. Prepare the Patties:
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, finely chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix until just combined, then form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  1. Cook the Patties:
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the patties to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.

  • Return the cooked patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them.
  • Cover and let simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  1. Serve:
  • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
  • Serve the smothered hamburger steaks with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the delicious gravy.
