• Chicken wings (about 1 kg)
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup cornstarch
• Oil for frying
For the Sauce
• 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
• 2 tbsp soy sauce
• 2 tbsp honey or brown sugar
• 1 tbsp rice vinegar
• 1 tbsp sesame oil
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 tsp grated ginger
• Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry, then season with salt and pepper.
- Coat the Wings: In a bowl, mix the flour and cornstarch. Toss the wings in the mixture to coat them evenly.
- Preheat Oil: Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the Wings: Fry the wings in batches, cooking each for 8-10 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Make the Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Coat the Wings: Toss the fried wings in the sauce until they’re well coated.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and serve hot.
